About the Office of Event Management & Protocol

The Office of Event Management & Protocol supports the university mission of teaching, research, and service through the effective development and management of events that communicate and enhance UCR's reputation for excellence, especially events specific to the advancement of the university.

The goals of the office are to:

• Serve in the planning, development and execution of high-profile major events that benefit the university and enhance its image, reputation and attractiveness as worthy focus of charitable giving and other forms of support.
• Partner with various academic and administrative units on campus in order to achieve their individual event goals and objectives.
• Advise members of the UCR community on protocol issues as they relate to event planning.

An Evening with Butch Johnson '76 — February 8, 2012

Join African Student Programs for An Evening with Butch Johnson '76. Mr. Johnson is a UCR alumnus and played in five NFC Championship games and two Super Bowls, winning a World Championship with the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XII in 1978.

44th Annual Hays Press-Enterprise Lecture — February 13, 2012

The goal of this long-standing lecture series is to bring to Riverside someone of exceptional achievement in journalism to address important topics related to the news media. The 2012 lecturer will be Geneva Overholser, professor and director of USC's Annenberg School of Journalism.

Donors & Scholars Recognition Celebration - April 21, 2012

Each year, the University gathers to bring together the generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients to celebrate achievement and philanthropy.

Campus Memorial — May 24, 2012

This annual ceremony serves to remember and celebrate the lives of those members of the campus community who have passed away during the previous year.

Commencement — June 15 - 18, 2012

This year, UCR will celebrate its 58th Commencement with seven ceremonies on the beautiful Pierce Lawn, just east of the carillon tower. Over 3,000 students are expected to walk across the stage with tens of thousands of family and friends looking on during this celebratory event. Chancellor's Dinner — October 29, 2011

New Student Convocation — September 19, 2011

This formal ceremony welcomed all incoming first-year and transfer students into the UCR family and promoted the shared values of the university - free inquiry, intellectual honesty, personal integrity, and respect for human dignity.
